Planes and trains must be considered modern day inventions, so in my opinion it would be since the industrial revolution.

Modern day inventions are ideas that come to light, helping modern aged folks in their current life pattern. In other words, advances in mankind for the current times...or me just bsing a minute or so, of your time. :)
