  • A few quick guesses for you, cause I remember having this happen to me, back when I was being "crafty" a long time ago. It's very distressing, but don't give up, it's usually a simple fix! If the tension is too tight for the material and the stitch length you're using, the thread will snap. Adjust the tension, the stitch and the length first to see if it fixes your problem. Other things that can make the thread break: You're using old thread; the thread isn't right for the material you're trying to sew; or it could be the bobbin is wound too tight. Also check to be sure the needle is screwed in straight and hasn't slipped out of place, or isn't slightly bent from accidently pulling material when it was down. Hope this helps!
