Can GC-MS urine drug tests tell if you have abused a prescription pain medicine or do they just verify the substance is present in urine? If they can, can drinking lots of water the day of the test reduce the metabolites of the drug so they can't tell?

the gas chromatograph/mass spec test will be able to tell if you are abusing pain medication........if you have a prescription for these meds, i do not see this as a problem.......drinking a lot of water will dilute your urine pH, which can also cause a positive (bad) urine test........don't drink vinegar or bleach, cuz this is less than helpful.......as long as you have a prescrition for these drugs, you should be fine.....Be careful with those meds......take care....Brian.......
