  • WARNING! HUMOR AND SARCASM APPLIED! WARNING! STATING THE OBVIOUS! Simple answer: First socks, then shoes. Lemme break it down: Socks: 1. Pull up left pantleg (or right, if really want to do it that way). 2. Pull sock over foot. 3. If sock is upside-down, pull it off, turn it over, and repeat steps 1 and 2. 4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 with other foot. Shoes: 1. Pull up left pantleg again (or right, if you must). 2. Pull up left (or right) sock. 3. Untie shoelaces if tied (just pull the string that's not looped). 4. If you created a knot, STOP PULLING! Carefully pick at knot until you get it undone. DO NOT CUT KNOT!! 6. If laces are in the way of tongue (the shoe's, not yours), then loosen laces by tugging with a hooked finger where they cross. 7. If you've just unlaced your shoe, STOP! Re-lace shoe by placing the end of the lace into the next eyelet on the opposite side from where it's coming out. 8. Pull out tongue (again, not yours). 9. Place foot into shoe. 10. Push tongue back into place (If you've got your hand in your mouth, you're wrong). 11. Pull laces tight. When laces stop coming, STOP PULLING! 12. If shoelace breaks, remove shoelace, go to Wal-Mart (or Target, if you'd rather) and buy a new one (which may be tough to do with no shoes); repeat steps 1 through 12 (yes, repeat this step). 13. Hold out both laces. If they're crossed, skip step 14. 14. Cross laces. 15. Loop one lace around the other, into the triangle you just made. 16. If you now have two uncrossed laces, repeat steps 13 through 15. 17. Pull tight. 18. If you've just broken your shoelace, see step 12; repeat steps 1 through 18. 19. Make a loop with one shoelace (just pick one, okay?!). 20. Loop the other lace around the first loop. 21. If the second loop slid off the first, repeat step 20. 22. Insert the end of the shoelace you just made the second loop with into the triangle you just made. 23. Pull loops tight. 24. If you undid your shoelaces, untie knot, and go to step 13. 25. Repeat steps 1 through 24 with other shoe. ... You may let your pantlegs fall down now.
  • Either both socks, then both shoes, or one sock then one shoe, then the other sock and the other shoe. Both ways are considered acceptable to contemporary etiquette. (Answered with tongue firmly planted in cheek)
  • By pulling them onto your feet.
