  • Ocean currents create different climate zones - in fact, its not too much of a stretch to say that ocean currents may be the most influential factor in micro-climate development. In general though, currents are thought to moderate climate by circulating warm and cold water around the globe. It's hypothesized that without any ocean currents, large portions of the world would have radically different climates than they do.
