These are some popular factors that can plague small towns and make a good serial killer movie, but the plot twists and conclusions often suffer. As well, masked and inhumanly powerful murderers plaguing small towns seems to make the concept a lot more freaky and homey then if the killer is in a big town, less ridiculous, at least for the 1980 genre.
