Bush is a mistake this country will never forget. Lincoln was a better president, it's a shame he isn't here to shut bush up.

A while ago, during a Fox News interview, George Walker Bush ACTUALLY equated himself with Abe Lincoln -- W seems to regard his feeblemindedness as a strength, since he is instead forced to rely on his instincts; and his conversations with God. Let's see, Lincoln, although gifted with enormous abilty and intelligence was also a man of humility, a humility born of honesty and deep introspection -- How ironic and tragic for this nation, to be saddled now with a president of little abilty or intelligence, coupled with limitless narcissistic self-regard. Another big difference is that Abraham Lincoln was almost completely a self-made and self-educated man. George W. Bush was, as former Texas Governor Ann Richards said, 'born with a silver spoon in his mouth.' Lincoln was insatiably curious and open to ideas; Bush 'knows what he know'. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican President. George Walker Bush will most likely be the last Republican President.

While there may not be much of a comparison between Bush and Lincoln, there are definite similarities in thier presidencies. People are quick to criticize Bush for his apparent suppression of civil liberties etc, but fail to recognize that Lincoln did the exact some thing. The clearest example is the establishment of military commisions or tribunals, which was done by both presidents. Bush uses the tribunals only to try non citizens and also gained the approval of Congress before doing so. The same cannot be said about Lincoln.
