You're reading I am an Ex Felon. I recently moved to New Jersey from Michigan. For the past month, I have been to various interviews with no success. I was convicted in 1996 nd was released from parole in 2005. In Michigan, I had a decent job. How can I find work?

Thank you for your reply. I hae lived in New Jersey now for almost a month. My fiancee is really frusterated becuse she is the only financial provider in the house. I have tried to keep a positive attitude, but not even McDonalds would hire me. I'm starting to think that it is in my interviewing skills. Any suggestions on how to answer certain questions during an interview?

First off it all about appearence and demeanor. To better understand I would need to know what your where convicted of. Depending on that, would depend on where and what you should apply for.

To Shadow, you may not want to reveal your past, that i understand. So that said, these are the fields you should be applying in, construction, hazmat abatement, warehousing, transportation etc. Jobs that are not a service oriented business. Also jobs that no one else wants to do, besides these jobs pay better than most. Hazmat abatement would be a good start. You must remember you are starting from scratch, you need to build back up a rapport, a resume', and job performance history. Start small and build from that foundation. It will be tedious and slow but, keep moving forward.
