no it is only impossible to expect the un-expected if the un-expected is un-expectable.

You can expect something unexpected in the sense that you can expect something will happen that you will not be able to guess what it is. The entire future is unexpected... we expect it will happen, but we really don't know exactly what it will be. What is expected is something. What that something is is unknown until it occurs. Being prepared for the unexpected is impossible... we would have to make assumptions as to what to expect to be prepared for it. We can be prepared for many expected potential events, but we can never be prepared for the unexpected.
