That depends...are you bleeding and swimming?

The docile Whale Shark is very friendly.

Maybe to each other. The question is, however, if sharks minds are complex enough to recognize an emotion such as being 'friendly'. It is difficult to apply human emotions to animals.

why dont you cut yourself and then jump in and find out lol
-
oh course, why not? ^___^

It is possible to swim with the big filter - feeders - Whale, Basking and Megamouth sharks without fear of attack. However these denizens of the deep can still inadvertantly cause injury with their rough skin (shagreen), or a swipe of their huge tail. People have even been able to grab hold of a Whale Shark's dorsal / caudal fin and hitch a ride. I'm not sure they actually court attention or enjoy the company, but they often don't resist. Reef sharks can be utilized by tourist - operators who hand - feed them to the excitement of paying guests. They may become 'tame', but this risky practice should only be executed by experts for obvious reasons. Even Great Whites can be trained to a certain extent. The one major problem with how this is done is that some people fear that the shark will associate humans with food - which of course is highly dangerous. I'm not sure any of them are 'friendly', but they can certainly be taught to be more amenable to humans. Hope this helps answer your question.

i don't want to be all scientific. So I'll just say that some sharks are friendly and others can be friendly if, and only IF you do these 4 things. First, stay out of their territory(those signs are up for a reason people). DO NOT even put your feet in if you have a cut on you. Third try not to wear bright colors(sharks eye sight is not very good, they could easily mistake you for a fish). And fourth if you see a shark but it doesn't see you DO NOT MOVE!!! Splashing water, would alert them and then kiss your legs goodbye(or worse)
