  • To me it sounds like you are going more for southern chicken and dumplings, than chicken and noodles. I wouldn't really use a recipe. I'd poach the chicken in a little it of water, just 20 minutes or so. Then cool and cube the meat, saving the liquid. I'd saute some onion and some celery, maybe add some cubed carrots. Add some butter to the pan and some flour to make a roux and then pour in some of the liquid to form almost a thin gravy. Add some white wine for extra flavor. Some spices like thyme, marjoram, nutmeg would be nice. Then add noodles to cook them at the end.
  • Cashew Chicken With Noodles 2 packages chicken flavored instant ramen noodles 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips 4 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces 1 large carrot, cut into very thin strips 2 tablespoons gravy master 1/3 cup chopped cashews Cook noodles according to package directions, reserving seasoning packets. Drain. Meanwhile in large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken then cook stirring, until browned and cooked through about 8 minutes.Remove with slotted spoon. To drippings remaining in skillet, add green onions and carrots. Cook stirring until tender then add cooked noodles, gravy master and seasoning packets. Cook until hot then stir in chicken and sprinkle with cashews.
