Personally, I am not against it. I do recognize that the information obtained could be used against someone unfairly and illegally, but that can and does happen even without it. The more repressive a government or corporation becomes, the more dangerous the uncontrolled collection of information on individuals becomes.

Ha ha ha Mainly privacy beliefs. But somewhat religious beliefs too now.
