Them's the rules. The last President who had no prior military experience was Bill Clinton. As for the upcoming candidates, only Senator John McCain has any sort of military experience, and he has two sons serving overseas now. Not an endorsement of any candidate, past or present, just the facts.

There's nothing I wouldn't believe could happen with this administration. He'll probably declare himself a Supreme Court justice before he leaves office if he gets the chance. I guess things could be worse if that happened.

There is no requirement in the Constitution that the President have military experience. He is constitutionally C-in-C regardless of his background. Nevertheless, there is something in the experience of being in the military that gives a President a proper perspective of the military, its needs, its importance and its actions.

I am just thankful there is a two term limit. On the other hand, I am pretty certain that those limits would NOT have been put to the test, with all due respect to our humble and lovable POTUS.
