Try a light mocha color. Stay away from dark colors if your room is small. If you want your room to look more mature, DO NOT put up posters of anything, unless they are framed. The only type of framed posters I would ever recommend would be finer art ones. Get a poster of Hokusai's "The Great Wave off Kanagawa", and buy a frame for it. Here's a link to a picture of it. http://spideronthefloor.com/jordan/images/Wave%20Images/Hires%20Wave.jpg Make sure your bedspread is a solid, lighter color, and avoid pastel purples, or pinks.

I think you should have a featured wall which is usally were you're bed is and have that wall painted Egg shell blue and the 3 remaining walls painted Cream. and have a painted Egg Shell blue boarder running from the featured wall through 2 the other walls. Then you could by a gold border and stick were u painted the Egg shell blue boarder on it. You could buy a Big gold fan and put on you're featured wall. You could have pictures of flowers etc... with gold frames on you're wall as well. Have you're bedding changed as well to incorporate the colours as well and get cushions for you're bed. and a fur rug. Enjoy x

I saw a room painted in a sea foam green. With white furniture it would look very sophisticated and stunning! Plus, a light color will open up the size of your room. This isn't the best picture to illustrate this, but you can see how good the white cabinet looks against that green. The white borders of the door look nice as well.

Mature is different depending on the person, but I would go for a lighter color. Darks will make your room look smaller. As for me, I'm a pretty mature person, but that doesn't stop me from having Mario on my wall. Kick ass.

I'm 36 and my bedroom is florescent pink - You have the rest of your life to grow up and become 'mature'. Be 14 while you still can - 17 years isn't all that cool anyway :) paint it whatever your favorite color is - I bet you'll love it! Worry about being mature when you're around 20 something...

I like yellow. My bedroom is yellow and I love it.

When i was 14, i chose the stripes of the tiger for my bedroom. The walls were painted tan and the curtains were black and gold striped.....like a Tiger. I guess you could say it was an early invention of the use of tattoos.........for a room, not a body. It was cool.

I would go with the white or cream with your curtains and accents being a solid bolder color. Maybe the same color as your carpeting. . This way you can continually change colors in your room without repainting it. +5

Whatever color you like. But since your room is small and your furniture white, avoid dark colors and white. A 17 year old and a 14 year old are likely to have very similar paint colors. At 17, you are unlikely to be that much more mature than you are now. If you're interested in decorating, try something and see if you like it. I painted my room when I was about your age, and now, twice as old, I still like how I did it. (Cream with light blue trim and dark blue window frames in a small room with a lot of light. Dark blue carpet. It looks great. But I like blue, and I knew it needed to be light colored. And iris wallpaper in the back plaster area.) The worst that happens is you don't like it and want to change it again in a while.
