  • nope. i never trust a stranger in my home.
  • Heck, no. It's not that I have anything that valuable (other than the kittens), but I just wouldn't trust them. Of course I check their company ID before letting them in. Besides, I can learn what they are doing to possibly solve the problem myself the next time.
  • Only to the extent that if they are working in the bathroom, I stay in the family room. The rest of the doors are always closed when strangers are in the house. I am lucky, because I have a handyman who has all my work for many years and I trust him.
  • Never. Its not safe these days.
  • the only time we've had repair men in our home is when we were remodeling and nothing was inside the home...NOTHING.
  • No. Most of my friends are in constuction of some sort. So it's really not a problem. I like to be there to help them out though.
  • No! Never !!! I may have been born at night, but not last night.
  • I've been doing service work for folks for over 25 years and don't mind if they want to stay close by. I just talk to them as I work to make them comfortable. No professional repairmen would mind being watched. Do whatever you're comfortable with. Personally I think I would prefer to be in another room, after making sure no valuables are left in the room the repairman would be working on, and staying out of his way so he'll get the job done quickly and get out!
  • I do watch but don't stop them from doing their job.
  • no, its not safe.. especially whenb you live with young kids aswell . ya never know what they might be like ( they might unlock a window and come back)
  • Hell no.. I try to stay there with them. You should see the tiler *drools all over keyboard and schemes to get more tiling done* :)
  • Ok, I'm the only stupid one here! I had to once. I really had no choice. My home was robbed 2 days earlier, the carpenter came to fix the door & I was having a alarm system installed. The high school kids with nothing better to do stole the street signs for my street so I had to meet the alarm guy at the end of my block. Yes it was stupid of me to leave the carpenter alone but his brother is a cop, needless to say a Detective showed up just as the carpenter was finishing & the alarm man was installing the alarm system. And besides that I had nothing of value left for anyone to steal!
  • no way - i wouldnt want them pilfering through my undie drawer!
