Possession just seems so "out there" to me. I think some people are just plain insane, and you cant exorcize the crazy out of a person!

The ones on TV are recreated, I'd like to see some real footage to be able to make an eductated decision on whether or not they are fake.

Yes. Not the dramatic type you read in novels or see in movies. Real exorcism is a lot more subtle. There are situations where the human mind can be brought back to normal only through practices best described as exorcism.

Of course. Jesus said "and you will cast out demons in my name." Take a last look at the end of Matthew, it gives us a list of things we must do for our Lord,and exorsism is on of them.

I think that the person having them thinks they are and that is why they work. Both people involved have to be in some sort of agreement that there is actually a problem that needs to be solved in that particular way. I imagine that the actual incidence of true possession is a great deal lower than the fakes or the mental illnesses. Especially in superstitious or religious countries like in South America. They mostly need psychological councelling but since there is none there, that is the next best thing especially being that the body and the mind do heal themselves... Some people just need help.

No they are not. I do not beleive there is a god, a devil, angels, demons, etc. Also, exorcisms can be explained by simpler means. If you are SURE that you are possessed, and you are SURE that a priest can cure you, there is a placebo effect.
