Driving north, on I-25 above Denver in my Big Rig, I spotted a deer up ahead, about 70 yards from the highway on the west side. I kept an eye on him and sure enough, as I got close, he started running, flat out, toward the road. I hit the binders and he kept comin'. I was sure I was going to hit him. Then, at the last second, he turn and ran back to the spot where he'd been standing. After picking up my load, just north of there, I headed back south, down I-25 and that deer was still standing there. Yup! As I got close, sure enough, he took off running toward the highway again. Well, I had to hit my brakes and he got all the way to the road and turned and ran off. I know, that night, sitting around with his deer buddies, he was saying, "You should have seen the look on that truck driver's face!"

ok, i fish a lot, like 3 times a week a lot last summer my mom and i went out fishing, and i caught a HUGE bucket mouth (Large Mouth Bass) but when i pull it up, and grabbed it by my hands, i noticed half of it's face was missing with it's jaw. the poor fish scared the hell out of my mom and i! i screamed and dropped it in the darn boat we're both screaming and waving our hands, freaking out, have no idea what to do! So we started paddling...with the darn fish IN THE BOAT!!! do you think paddling will get us anywhere if the fish is in the boat? lol, and worse, what's so wrong about a misshapen fish? either way it scared the crap out of me, it looked like a long piranha with an over bite... EEK! omg, I'm giggling out loud thinking about it, you had to be there, it was one of my favourite memories! and great question BTW

A few years ago, can't remember where, maybe Fort Bragg or Aberdeen Proving Grounds, I decided to go for a long walk on a road and then come back. As I was walking I turned my head to the left and saw about 30 or 40 deer. They were all looking directly at me. I froze. I wasn't sure if all those deer would want to hurt a person. After about 5 seconds I decided to just continue walking forward. Nothing happened.

I live in an area with lots of animals so I tend to run into them a lot, literally. Twice, on two different occasions,I have nearly had a deer run over the top of me. Once a bat swooped down and hit me in the stomach and then it fell on the ground, but jumped up and flew away. I've had a bat come in the house and I caught it in a mayonnaise jar and put it out side. I frequently have birds come in the house. I've had a weasel jump up and sit on a log with me and watch me eat a sandwich, while camping. Once while I was riding my horse, he just missed stepping on a small Diamondback Rattlesnake. In Alaska I went swimming once with a bunch of flounder, every time I'd go to put my foot down on the bottom under the water, a flounder would fly up out of the sand. I've hiked on trails with brown bear close by. I've had coyotes answer me when I howl. There's probably some other things but I can't remember them at the moment.

a little while ago, i had a 'pet' magpie..it was a wild one, but it always came to visit us:) and he would hang upside down on a tree and just dangle there, or lie on it's back on the trampoline with it's legs in the air:)

Gabster, how wonderful! I love magpies. They are stealthy thieves as well.

I made a hotel for fish when i was younger under in the sea, i piled up rocks and made walls and doors but no roof, how else would i see? anyway fish started coming, just small ones, but it was fun seeing lots of different types all congregating at the hippest joint in the sea. though i think they were only attracted because of the sea bed being turned up, so there'd be more food for them there. fun to watch and must have spent at least an hour in the sea doing it lol.

I was jogging around my parent's woods when I was about 17 years old. It was springtime, so the whitetail deer fawns had dropped and were very small. I am running down a path when a doe runs across the path about 10 feet from me. I started sprinting because I wanted to touch the fawn that would no doubt be on her heels. I tackled it! It kicked and bit me, and mother stopped. It was beautiful. Just to let you know, I did not hurt her at all. The whole encounter lasted maybe seven seconds... Another time jogging, around the same age, the deer were in the "rut" season which is when they mate. I did know better, yet still went running while having my monthly. I round a bend and a six point buck is walking towards me with his head down and his tongue out. I ran as fast as I could into the wind all the way to my parents house. YIKES!
