Wow! It would be pretty incredible to have a 5-octave singing voice. An octave is a fancy musical term for 8 consecutive notes. Since the musical scale only has seven letter names in it, once you cycle through all of those, you start all over again! It is also the distance between the two closest instances of a specific note--for instance, if you begin on an "A" and go up or down 8 notes, you'll be at the next highest or lowest "A". Someone whose voice could span 5 octaves could literally hit most of the notes on a piano--impressive and probably impossible.
