What are the pros and cons of keeping or abolishing the death penalty?

same thoughts here. i just feel strongly that its wrong to kill someone back for killing someone. its very barabarian-like. but i can understand why some people would feel for the death-penalty especially if their sister was killed or something like that but i still dont believe its right. thanks panda.

thanx matt lol but isn't it too easy to just kill the "murdering bastards and rapists"? to me i think you should let them serve life in a work camp earning money for the victim's family's own profit.

While I agree they should be tourtured I just dont see them living on to old age. My best friend in the world was brutally beaten and raped two years ago and the impact on her was so sad. The guy was simply sent to prison (later died but still was not excuted) and it upset me. If I was in control he would have died a slow painfull death.

true but some murdering rapists lose their ability to either express or even feel the primary human emotions, to them killing them slowly or even at all would probably fulfill their own sick deviant hopes and dreams, to me the murder is called for the crime is unforgivable but its just too easy.

Very few developed countries might i add. And i agree in a sense. I am against the death penalty, but only because i think its too easy. Thanx for the answer Mr Sublime

Apologies, i meant most of.. my point was that this nation is going to be the last developed nation to stop the death penalty, and as an alleged leader of the free world it's a little ironic that it has the harshest capital punishment.
