Cry, or run for the hills. He never seemed comfortable on stage, that is for sure.

I think it was part of his "charm" - the boyish looks and the "I need a hug" look. It worked, I guess, he made it to number 2.

that silly boy should not even have been in the top 24.. he had no charisma no style or originality and he took some of the best songs ever written and turned them into sap... when amanda got canned i quit watching.. though i did find paulas perpetual opiate induced happiness to quite amusing and sexy..one night im sure she was speed balling.

No, he was almost always happy. He cried a couple of times - once sadness for his friend Alexandrea getting voted off so soon and once he was just overwhelmed by his homecoming visit to Murray. And he looked a bit like he might in the finale after singing but he just left everything he had on the stage. I much prefer a sensitive guy to an insensitive one. Cook cried some too during Idol. The rest of the time David was a ton of fun. Funny and friendly - there are many compilations on Youtube of funny moments with David and one just of his laughs and smiles.
