    Socially, I'd say 3 is too old.

    Physically, until the mother dries up.

    As long as the mother and the child both want to continue, there is no age limit.

    Thank you for your question.

    Normally, it is when they are weaned but it is a decision of the mother.

    Many mothers go to three or even older.

    I agree. Why should there be an age limit? I have heard that some husband keep their wife's milk going between kids or the kids keep getting breastfeed for a number of years. If a second child shows up several years after the first one, he or she (the first child) may feel left out because of all of the attention the baby is getting. The first child may want to breastfeed again. There may be 7 to 10 years between children.
