I think that addiction is all they have in common.

Nah eating disorders are psychological and drug addictions are physical, like you become physically addicted to drugs and your body physically craves them whereas you gain a morphed body image in your mind which threatens your health and it's classified as an eating disorder... am I making sense? I can see how I'm not lol...

Yes and no. Different types of addicts share many things in common. However there are differences. People with food addiction have to eat. So it is like someone trying to quit coke but have to snort just a small amount 3 x a day. Plus most addicts can avoid being around what they are addicted to. Again if you are a coke addict it is theoretically easier to stay away from coke then food. On the other hand people with food addiction do not usually hit as low a bottom as some addicts. For instance they usually don't resort to illegal activites in order to buy food. The stigma is also not as severe. Although people understand drug addiction better than food addiction drug addicts face more dicrimination.

No, it isn't all that different. Eatting disorder is almost as addicting as taking drugs. You can try to get out of an eatting disorder, but you can't stop. And when you have an eatting disorder, its hard to imagine the consequences.
-
No it's not different, in fact, I believe it's harder to break the eating disorder addiction. Food is all around us - you can't escape it.

Getting fat isn't illegal. What are you eating anyway? You may be able to do both at the same time. Stay away from the "special" brownies dude, just to be on the safe side.
