It is no more a trend as most people are familiar with their kitchen. They will visualize what to add and what to top up as most maintain good stock for their kitchen. Most people went over board the moment they see new price offer from the free brochure given at the outlet entrance.Sometimes ending up buying things that they don't really need.

Actually, last time I went shopping I did write up a list and cross-referenced 4 different circulars for supermarkets in my town. I put it all on an excel spreadsheet and had it narrowed down to 3 stores. I hit the first store and did my shopping. Then I headed to the second store and found out, as I was getting the baby out of the car, that it was closed down for repair. This one had half price Perdue chicken. I was PISSED. But I just hit the third store and got the rest of the stuff there and stayed in budget. Just wasn't able to buy as much chicken as I wanted.

I usually take a list with me but I go to the same store everytime so I know where everything is and approx. how much everything is going to cost so I really don't even look at my list until I'm finished shopping really just to make sure I got everything weird huh?

I never go shopping without one. And I usually have things separated by store if I"m going to many different ones. I always have my pad waiting at home in the kitchen so I can add whatever I find I'm out of or running low, even what to add back to the pantry to fill it back up. I add things on there that I find in the ads that are on sale and note which store it's in. THEN we go shopping.

I never walk into a store without a list. Due to some minor damage done to my brain from an accident years ago if I do not have a list that specifies what I am going to buy I can trigger a panic attack. A friend asked me to pick up toothpaste for her once and neglected to tell me which brand and type. I looked at the row of ohh about 50 different types and brands and I bought ohhh 50 different tubes of toothpaste in order to purchase the right one. :)

I use a list unless I'm just getting one or two items.

I write down what I know I need or I'll forget. I also get other stuff too but rarely go overboard unless I'm really hungry at the time. So I try to shop after I've eaten and not before.

I use a shopping list and I'm pretty good at sticking to it.

I make one and bring it. Forget at least one thing on it. And get about 4x more than what's written down.

I always make a list, bring it with me, and stick to it. Occasionally I'll get one or two extra items - but it's usually something that I need, but forgot about - not something that just jumped out and said "buy me!" I can't afford to be buying a bunch of junk I don't need.
