I saw an episode of CSI where a woman got eaten by a snake. A) Could a snake eat me, a 5'9 165 pound male? B) If it could, what part of me would pass it's mouth before it had to stop? IE waist, thighs, etc. C) What if it started at my feet? Just curious.

Here's what I've been able to find at various other sources: There are some claims that snakes have eaten people but these tend to be unreliable and the stories tend to change considerably each time they get reported. Here are some photos showing a person who was eaten by a snake but the experts cast some doubt on the authenticity of the photos. Click the link for the photos but as the page says - they're not for the squeamish as some of the pictures are very graphic: http://crinaustin.home.att.net/Snake2.htm There is a reliable report of a snake eating a 6 foot alligator, this would be about the same size as an adult human. Both the snake and alligator died in the confrontation. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4313978.stm Larger Snakes (Pythons, boas and anacondas over 10 feet) have been known to eat small children (Under 4 feet tall). I imagine that a 20+ foot snake could eat a 6 foot tall person, whole, after crushing all of the bones in his/her body.

There are several documented cases of people being swallowed by huge pythons Particuarly the African rock Python, Anacondas, Reticulated Pythons and possibly Burmese Pythons though i dont known of any such reports but one managed to swallow most of an Alligator in Florida full-grown as well though the snake exploded due to struggling but it could be possible that a Human may be swallowed but you'll be fine just stay away from Florida, Africa, Burma, And the rest of south America.

I saw that woman being swallowed and yes there is a chance of a snake swallowing a Human though it would have a higher chance of success if it was feet first. Also as i said earlier the following breeds have been known to swallow humans or at least try African Rock Pythons, Anacondas/Green Anacondas,Burmese Pythons and Reticulated Pythons. Dont mean to sound sexist here but there is a significantly higher chance of a person being swallowed by one of the snakes above if they are female due to women have smaller shoulders making them easier prey (apoligies to anyone this may have offended). If you are ever swallowed by these Snakes then they will try to go the whole hog on you and devour you whole but a Burmese and a African Rock python would probably have to stop maybe midway or the knees i guess but a Anaconda/Green Anaconda will likely have no trouble swallowing you whole nor will a Reticulated Python

It has never been proved that a snake has successfully eaten an adult. Some have tried, but none have been documented doing it and lived. You might say their eyes are bigger than their stomach. They start at the feet but can't pass the larger areas of a human adult. It's a myth that snakes at people. They can KILL people, but not eat them

I also want to add that a snake is hypothesized at being able to swallow a Human female head or feet first due to their thinner frame but would struggle with a male more due to the wider shoulders(notice all the pics online show snakes struggling with males whilst women being eaten are said to have been swallowed but no photos taken odd hmm?)to compensate for the large shoulders a snake would have to swallow a male victim sideways theres a youtube video that demonstrates this somewhere
