  • I am still wondering who is stronger... Tarzan or Flash Gordon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8t0WfLQzLQ
  • Pffft...In a heartbeat... :)
  • I've heard and seen them doing that to Cobras, for example. I don't know if mongooses and rattlesnakes are geographically compatible. Mongoose: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongoose Rattlesnake: http://www.desertusa.com/may96/du_rattle.html
  • yes. the mongoose kill/eat rattlesnakes. they are natural enemies.
  • Some species, such as the Indian Mongoose, are popularly used to fight and kill venomous snakes, even king cobras. Egyptian mongooses also eat poisonous snakes. They can run backwards, roll over, swim and stand on two hind feet. They can puff their hair up to appear two times their actual size, change directions quickly and jump. This helps the Egyptian mongoose kill snakes and any prey they encounter.
  • Only if very lucky. A cobra, which is what they are known for killing is a slow striker. That is why they are the snake of choice for snake charmers. A rattlesnake is much, much faster. And mongooses depend on their speed to avoid a bite. They are NOT immune to venom. Young mongooses die from snake venom just as easily as any other animal, when bitten. Cobras rear up straight and strike in an arc, like if you rest your elbow on the desk and keep it still and move your hand towards the desk. Copperheads and rattlesnakes form an "S" curve and strike in a straight line, very quickly. Almost a spring-action.
  • As was posted earlier, a mongoose can kill a cobra. However, it seems that indigenous mongeese (that probably isn't the correct plural but I like it :p) wouldn't have an occasion to confront rattlers because IIRC indigenous rattlers live on the opposite sides of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans from mongoosies. AFAIK rattlers are indigenous to North America and mongeese live in Africa and Asia. If they were to confront each other for the first time I'd bet on the mongoose based on my assumption that because mammals are basically smarter than reptiles the mongoose would bring innately superior fighting tactics to the battle. . Also, if it happened when the temperature was cooler the mongoose would have a speed and quickness advantage over a cold-blooded animal such as the rattler.
  • Anything is possible!!!!!!!:):)
  • yes a mongoose can kill a rattle snake
  • mongoose is not effected by the venom, so they feast on rattlers
  • Rattlesnake vs gaboon viper- Gaboon viper, much more deadlier, and heavier, with better weaponery. Though diamond back rattlesnakes can be as long as average gaboon vipers, they are less massive. The Gaboon viper [Bitis Gobanica] has the longest fangs and highest yield of venom among venomous snakes, so its obvious that it would have the adge against the rattlesnake
  • It can kill a rattle snake but not as easy as it does for a cobra
