  • go to your garbage bin, double click on it, fin word pad and drag it onto your main screen.
  • well, i wish it were that easy. not in the recycle bin. i don't know how it was deleted. i was removing programs, and i removed ms messanger, and ms explorer. now wordpad is gone, and all the wordpad files i have don't open. strange.
  • Not sure what operating system you're using, but have you tried doing a system restore to before the removal? Edit: In Xp, go to your program list; Accessories; System Tools; System Restore.
  • i'm running XP. how do you do a system restore? thanks for your help
  • actually, i just figured out how to do a system restore, and that worked! thanks! now, if I can only figure out how to prevent this update from occuring everytime i start my computer...it keeps wanting me to insert a CD to a program I don't have....anyway, thanks
  • Reinstall Windows. It should pop right back up.
  • Just copying from another XP machine also works. "C:Program FilesWindows NTAccessories" contains everything you need: wordpad.exe mswrd6.wpc mswrd8.wpc write.wpc You may need to add "C:Program FilesWindows NTAccessories" to your PATH (My Computer (Icon) - Properties (Right mouse menu) - Advanced (Tab) - Environment Variables (Button)
