  • Through my research, I have found that there have been no other instances in which all pitchers for one MLB team in one game were born in Asia, with a minimum three pitchers. I can think of one instance where four Asian-born pitchers pitched in one game, however there was a non-Asian in there as well. This game occurred on September 26, 2005, with the Mets facing the Phillies. The four Asian born pitchers were: Jae Weong Seo (born in South Korea) Danny Graves (born in South Vietnam) Kazuhisa Ishii (born in Japan) Shingo Takatsu (born in Japan) This was also the first time in big league history four Asian-born pitchers were used consecutively in the same game. Roberto Hernandez, born in Puerto Rico, also pitched in the game. Here is a box score of that game: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/PHI/PHI200509260.shtml Now you've got me on a hunt. I'm trying to track down all instances where at least three Asian born pitchers were used in a game by the same team... On August 17, 2000, the Rockies used three Asian born pitchers in the same game - Mosato Yoshii, Bobby Chouinard (he's from the Phillippines) and Craig House (he's from Japan). However, they also used Jose Jimenez, who is not Asian born. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYN/NYN200008170.shtml On August 22, 2000, the Rockies again used three Asian born pitchers - Yoshii, Chouinard and House. However, they also used a whole bunch of non-Asians too. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/COL/COL200008220.shtml The Rockies did the same thing again on September 3, 2000. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/COL/COL200009030.shtml On April 22, 2006, the Dodgers used three Asian born pitchers in the same game - Jae Weong Seo, Hong-Chih Kuo and Takashi Saito. However, non-Asians Franquelis Osoria and Tim Hamulack were also used in the game. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/LAN/LAN200604220.shtml Earlier this year (April 25th), the Dodgers used three Asian born pitchers - Hiroki Kuroda, Takashi Saito and Chan Ho Park in a game, however there were a couple non Asians who pitched in that game as well (Cory Wade and Jonathan Broxton). Check out this link: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/LAN/LAN200804250.shtml On May 6 of this year, the Dodgers did it again, this time using Kuroda, Hong-Chih Kuo and Saito. However, Broxton was also used. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/LAN/LAN200805060.shtml
