White. At the time the speculation was that white cars were the most visible and least likely to be involved in accidents. Current research says that actually metallic silver vehicles are safer still.

actually, the first car i had painted i did myself with spray paint ;) lol! it was an old chevy caprice, a former cop car. it originally was dark blue but i painted it black and white and made my own custom logo for the doors. i had it okayed by the state highway patrol before i painted it to make sure i wasn't breaking any laws. it sure turned a lot of heads ;) lol! since then i've made several "art cars". it's a lot of fun to take an old beater car and transform it into a piece of art and then drive it around ;)
