  • Sounds like it is cutting the fuel pump off for security reasons. THere's enough fuel in the line to run the engine for a few seconds but that's it. Don't keep killing the engine due to fuel starvation as it's bad for it - very bad. Does this happen every time or just sometimes? Write down what you do when it does/doesn't happen and compare notes. (ie. unlock doors using remote (1 press of button), close door, insert key and start vehicle. OR unlock doors using key, close door, insert key and start vehicle, vehicle dies.) The problem in the example is that the remote disables the security and the key itself doesn't. Try doing that and seeing what works and what doesn't. Good luck, Hope this helps
  • Brought it to the dealer and they said it was the Theft Deterrent Module. It wouldn't start whether the keyless was used, with any of the keys or even activating the alarm and turning it off. They replaced the TDM and now it starts fine. Extremely expensive because I had to have the car towed in, and they knew they had me over the barrel.
  • Sounds like my problem with my 2000 grand prix. I was told it was the fuel pump shut off switch, it has to be reset so the car thinks its not being stolen, cause was determined by a sudden jolt to the vehicle. Your situation could be the same. Have you reprogrammed your alarm settings from your manual book. with my situation, my car won't start, but its like its trying to get fuel as well, and my car was jolted,so something must be with the fuel pump reset switch
