If they do it as part of developing and refining a skill, I think it's brave. For instance, a snow boarder attempting a new type of difficult acrobatic move. If they do it just as a risk involving no skill, I think it's stupid. For instance, a person trying to set a record for holding their breath under water the longest.

I don't think of them as brave at all. I do see them as willing to take risks with their lives and hope they feel it's worth it for just a feeling or for not being bored. And I always think about their family and loved ones and if they think those risks are worth it for whatever reasons. I've known a few extreme risk takers and 2 are no longer with us. Their families didn't think it was worth it.

I'm afraid I think they are being silly. I mean if you feel you are brave enough to take some risks on your life do it for a worthy cause. There are plenty of dangerous areas in the world where people need help. Putting your life in danger for fun is just stupid. Plus, one has responsabilities in this life, towards one's parents for example, who deserve somebody to look after them when they are old. Risking your life like that is disrespectful towards people who tried to raise and keep you safe all your life. They deserve better than a child who is willing to die because he/she wants to ride a bicycle over a bridge.
