If you walked by the border, and saw an illegal hop the fence, would you get alert the border patrol or handle it yourself?

I would do nothing.I used to live in the countryside in S California and many of my neighbors were illegals.They were very kind,friendly,and hard working.

Its too bad that last person would do nothing. What if that alien was a sex offender, drug trafficker, or gang member? There's only one way to know: arrest and run records. There's a purpose to the fence. Calling the Border Patrol helps them out a lot. I have a friend who is an Agent and she says the guys building the fence alert the BP all the time and it helps her a bunch! They do catch a lot of bad people too.

I would report any crime I saw...and illegal entry IS a crime.
