Do you say bye to someone everytime you leave them?

yes. plain and simple, if you want to keep friends, you have to be cordial. I get the feeling this is a "airport" type of leave them, and my answer may not be true in a "im going to the grocery store" sense. However, if they see you leaving, even for a short errand, it is considered socially obligatory to at least say a curt "see ya"

That's a drag, man, so I say "hasta luego," "ciao," "adios," "sayonarah" and "au revoir." Of course, with a habit like that, people are glad to hear me say goodbye.

Of course! It is manners really. It would feel weird if I met someone then left them without showing them I was leaving by saying bye!
