Never ever mix hamster species, they will most definitely fight.

syrian hamsters cannot even be put together in cages for permanent, these hamsters are extremely cage territorial i have seen them eat their own sibling if left in the cage together too long. dwarf hamsters can be kept in pairs or a group of three but they must be of the same species, dont mix a dwarf chinese hamster with a russian or a robo, this will also end badly. the best thing is to get another of the same species as the dwarf and have them in a separate cage for the first week then slowly start to introduce them to each other.....by taking them both out and have a secured area where they can interact with each other. after about a week of doing this then see how they do in the same cage, watch for the first hour and keep checking on them, they usually do fine.
