Help answer this question below.
I suppose that it is because the page doesn't contain much, the file size is small.
Google uses its money to store a copy of its webpage in many servers all round the world. This means instead of having to go all the way to somewhere in America, it can get it from somewhere tat might just be right down the road. It is also a very small, simple page to load.
google is a hugely paid company, and so it goes faster than normal pages
Google saves all the webpages in the internet in its memory, so when you search a keyword or anything, it just has to check its memory, so that takes some milli seconds and if you notice google's search page, it only has text and no images making it load faster. Why, when you Google search for something, does it say "Did you mean?" followed by a different spelling of your original search?

You mean the file size is small? This answer needs to be more specific.

This is correct. The google homepage contains very little graphics, pictures etc. It is merely a shortcut to the search function.
