On iPod hold "Menu"+"Action"(Centre button) If this doesen't work, sometimes it does some times it doesent, take a look at this site http://www.sprayfly.com/2006/03/ipod_stuck_in_disk_mode_1.php which should help you

if i pod is on disk mode ..toggle with the hold button ...after doing that a couple of times press the menu button..the apple logo will appear..then press the middle button and the play button at the same time until ipod reacts.
