  • Yes, fish can hear, however they don't always show it. Fish can hear like we can (more or less), but they usually ignore the sound unless if it is good for them to "hear" the sound. For example, if a scientist were to ring a bell during feeding time for a while, the fish, depending on the species, could be trained to realise that that sound means food, and they would start swimming around frantically for the food (depending on the hunger level). However, an opera singer could sing a high note, and, if it doesn't break the glass, the fish wouldnt care!
