    Mono Hot springs in CA up in the Sierra, especially a great soaking pool called Little Eden. It's all natural, no resort to be seen:-) And another great one, actually a series of pools each a different temperature is Keogh Hot springs, not in the resort but the waters that run out of there along a little dirt road. Great to camp near and enjoy for the day.
