Um, I've been to Crystal Lake. I actually used to live less than an hour's drive from there. It's actually quite nice. A few crazies around there (not all of them wearing masks) but quite enjoyable.

I'm sure there's a place called Crystal Lake somewhere for real, but I doubt there's an undead killer roaming the area. I'd probably go to a place with that name just because of the movies lol, but if it WAS the real Camp Crystal lake, I would know a lot better then to go anywhere near there.

There is a Crystal Lake, VA. There is a park there, but not a campground as far as I can tell. I think I would skip camping and the park though.

There are Camps called Crystal Lake. I have been to two of them already. So yes I would go.

There's a Crystal Lake just up tha road in Hersey, Maine. Looks innocent enough, I'd go. :-)

There are probably TONS of Crystal Lakes all over the United States. I mean, it's not exactly the most original or creative name for a body of water. There's definitely at least one in New Hampshire that I know of... I'd have no problem camping there.
