My kids describe that as "the ring of doom," you need to take it in for a repair.

you could get a new one for free from here. http://www.360Elite4free.com/index.php this is one of the few sites that isn't a scam. hard to believe, huh? i was skeptical at first also. It's really simple though. Just create an account using this link. Choose a referral based account, NOT a points based account. Complete one sponser offer. Do the stamps.com offer, it's free. Download the software that you need from stamps.com (no spyware, checked multiple times), print out a couple stamps and stay a member for at least 21 days. After 21 days you will have a 7 day period to cancel your free trial before you get charged money. As long as you do this after 21 days, you will receive credit for the offer and will not have paid anything. Refer some people to do the same thing as you, and enjoy your well-deserved xbox 360 elite!

It's F**ked. You need to send it to Microsoft for repair. I'm on my 3rd one in under a year.

Your system is overheating. My son had the 3 red lights as well, and we were keeping Xbox360 in an enclosed cabinet. The vents have to be in the open, and if the system is enclosed (as ours was in the entertainment center)then what happens is the fan blows the hot air out of the system and if it's enclosed then the hot air has no where to go. So, the system will overheat, and that's when the 3 red lights appear. Hope this helps!
