Until Soccer becomes as competative in America as it is worldwide, then no. Until America gets some competative soccer teams here then(i know we have great soccer players in the US)no. It's a great game, but its not a game many Americans grew up watching, and i don't think its a game that Americans feel they can compete in, to be honest. Because some of those soccer teams out there are crazy good!! I don't think even the Superbowl draws crowds like a soccer game does in some countries!

No because soccer players are pussys compared to football or hockey players. Yes that is a biased opinion, but it is what it is.
-
Because it requires too much effort. The American obesity just won't allow for it.

I obviously can't give a definitive answer because I'm not American. However, I think the main reasons are that there isn't enough violence for the average American sports fan and that it doesn't lend itself to being broken down into a series of statistics, although British broadcasters are starting to display meaningless and annoying statistics along the bottom of the screen.

Nothing against soccer, but America has so many interesting sports, that it just gets lost in the system. We do have soccer in some of the schools and the youth programs have soccer for younger kids. The problem is that the kids gravitate towards the games they see on TV, and soccer isn't one of them. I played soccer in school and didn't care too much for it, but I loved playing volleyball, basketball and softball. As far as it ever being really popular in America, I don't think so.

I don't understand people that watch soccer. It's dull, and not entertaining in the least. It's like watching professional curling. Now put two guys in an octogon, and let them bloody each other, now that's entertaining.

I think americans dislike it because they only found it out after they created baseball and nfl so i reckon if the americans knew about soccer before these other sports it will be really popular and in my opinion americans might not love it because they are not hered of playing football around the world to be honest (no offence but i hardly hear about your soccer that go's on around their) Hope this helps

It might be a cultural issue. Sports that bring glory to their players become popular. Soccer players have unimpressive body builds, which would account for its lack of popularity in the USA. Same with cycling, my favorite sport. Americans love athletes who look like athletes.

It's a business that runs good in Europe. Does not have the best US athletes on it( I.e Lebron, Kobe, P. Manning, Etc.) Plus, There's no violence. SoccerFreestyleandTricks.com

I have been playing competitive soccer for about 10 years now. I travel across the country and out of the country. To answer your question, a lot of people in America like the sport and play it as it is a wonderful game, but unless you are playing in the game or at the actual stadium watching soccer on television isn't very satisfying, ofcourse if David B is playing most girls will watch it! (: including me (:
