Question

Help answer this question below.

My 1993 Grand Am cranks but there isn't compression in any cylinder. The timing chain is perfect and there are no symptoms of a head gasket leak or cracks in the head. Could the camshaft be broken?

It is not unheard of to have a camshaft break right behind the drive gear , particularly in GM products (this is my NAPA dealers observation). You can check this simply by removing the valve covers. If the valves don't move while cranking, and you are positive it isn't the timing chain or gears, it is likely a broken cam.
