  • My favorite bookstore is a HUGE Chapters because I can always find the book i'm looking for :). Sometimes when I'm in the small bookstores they don't have my books that I want so I usually end up going to Chapters anyways.
  • When it was open, my favorite bookstore was a local Mom & Pop place. You got far better service and they didn't mind if you browsed a bit. In fact, the proprietor was so nice that when she ran for mayor (as a Democrat), I voted for her without reservation (which is something I rarely do, as I am somewhat conservative).
  • I hate independent bookstores. They sell old, used, and crappy books. I like Barnes and Noble. They have good updated books and a nice atmosphere.
  • The giant chain bookstores even if its online. I haven't actually been inside one in years.
  • I love all bookshops.
  • Borders and similiar bookstores are my favorites. I can scan what I'm considering buying while I have a cup of coffee and some scones. : ))
  • I like the big stores, they are bigger and all the books are new and CLEAN!
  • I have two answers: I prefer the larger book stores if I am looking for a test prep book (ex MCAT, GRE, etc...) or a good selection of literary classics. However, I prefer the smaller (ie independent) stores if I am looking for original copies of older books, or am just searching around for a good deal.
  • I like the bigger stores because they usually have a better selection. Lately, however, my local B&N has been sucking on the selection. Can't find what I want.
  • My three favorites are: Barnes & Nobles, Borders and Books-A-Million.
  • I like Barnes and Noble best. Things are easier to find. Borders I have a hard time ever finding what I want:)
  • I definitely prefer small mom and pop places. There is a used book store near my house named The Book Rack. I could spend hours in there. You usually get much better service there. Plus I like buying used books, they are cheap and usually in really good condition. The only time I go to a chain bookstore is if I'm looking for something specific that would have to be order and even then I usually just order it off line.
