  • I hate the whole tipping culture in America it is a disgrace. I left a tip once and the waiter didn`t think it was enough and he attacked me in the washroom. What a joke.
  • Actually there is such a law. If you make less than minimum wage, even after factoring in the tips, your employer is required to make up the difference. Wait staff have it really good, I wouldn't complain.
  • Yes, this could use a little help. It is currently determined state by state. In Arizona, wait staff can make as little as $2.50 per hour in tip receiving positions, but here in Oregon, the state minimum wage of $7.95 per hour must be paid, tips or no. There should definitely be a federal law to level the playing field.
