  • The issue is that if the problem is caused by a memory overflow then you have to power it off to refresh the memory. Most of these devices don't have a power button so your only choice is to unplug them. If a router had a reset button it would be to set it back to the factory original settings which would require you to configure it again.
  • My linksys router has a reset button, in the back of it. I just have to hold it in for 30 seconds, and it resets everything. I have to use a pen, because the hole is so small, but it works every time. I usually have to do this about once a month. I don't have to reconfigure anything, it is done automatically.
