In general, which musical instrument produces a more annoying sound, the bagpipes or the accordion?

I would have to say this is an opinion question. Like beauty: it is in the eye of the beholder. So, like sound: it is in the ear of the listener. Either instrument can be annoying. In fact any instrument can be annoying if no discernible rythem can be heard. I think you just need to hear some good music played from those instruments. Personally, I prefer music from the accordian because I've heard some great people playing it. Bagpipes, well, it just sounds like horn blowin' to me.

Well, in my opinion it's the accordian. Because you can't play polka music on a bagpipe.

I think it depends on who's playing the instrument. One could be just as annoying as the other.

There are good in both of those instruments, however, I would prefer to hear the accordian. But I have heard some pretty songs on the bagpipes as well. I believe it just depends on how well the artist is playing that is the key here.
