Its the oil on your skin and it could be the soap, you are using. some have softners, vit. e. etc. Some people have excessive oily skin, like american indians. take a shower and in 2 hrs., the oily skin is back.

Soap takes the oil off of our skin. The water will only run off if there is a sleek surface to slide down. If there is no oil, then irt is sticking to your hair. You will notice that immediatly after you brush the saop over your skin, water will not stay on you, because the vast ammount of soap is covering your hair and skin, making a smooth surface.

Soap, or sodium stearate, is a chemical hydrocarbon. It consists of a polar 'head' and a non-polar 'tail'. Dirt, grease, oil etc. is non-polar. Water is polar. Since like substances dissolve like substances, the 'tails' of soap stick to the dirt, and the 'heads' stay on the body. The 'tails' break off, taking the dirt with it (that's how you get clean), and the 'heads' absorb water, trapping it on your skin. Isn't high school chemistry fun?
