the most violent that i've ever played would probably be the silent hill series. Beating hunks of acid spewing flesh to death is pretty violent.

Manhunt. I swear those games are...God. Basically, your role in the game is to murder people in various ways, including suffocation, chainsaw or hammer. You're making like a TV reality show of it. A game where your task is to brutally take the lives away form others doesn't get much more violent. :/ The game is a bit dated but you get the idea, the movement and struggles are well done, and the voices (Gurgles.) especially. Manhunt 2 is even worse, so much so that it's almost ridiculous. And I do believe that most versions of Manhunt 2 that were released were actually toned down. And they still make me go; okay Imma go do something else for a bit. The malaise is quite similar to that of Silent Hill, where after a bit you really don't feel like playing anymore and feel kinda sick. Basically, this series is a murder simulator. WARNING-THESE VIDEOS ARE GROSS.

I think the most is Postal. it's not ACTUALLY the most violent. but the fact that it's completely senseless, makes it worse

"WAR games," in the USAF (60s & 70s). Television screens were utilized, so they WERE "video" games, in a way.

I don't know about violent for now, but back in 1986 their was a game called Commando Libya for the Commodore 64 game system. It was a scrolling shooting gallery type game, pre-duke nukem sorta. Anyways their was a bonus stage where you had prisoners of war lined against the wall and you got to gun them down with a machine gun. Then they chop the Libyans heads off at the end with a guillotine... Im not kidding. Kinda sick for 1986.

GUN. It is a really good game though, deep storyline and one of the few successful westerns. Violent parts are the ability to scalp people, skinned human bodies, blowing limbs and heads of with shotguns and torture scenes (Ripping out of teeth, blowing off fingers etc).
