  • Both and neither. The whole card needs to be special to them or to "us". For instance, buying my brother in law any card with primates (apes, monkeys, gorillas, etc) has a special meaning - it's a private joke. So even if the card isn't funny or sentimental, he understands that I have reached for something personal between us.
  • The music that plays when you open it. No, seriously, I look at the words. I usually choose funny ones - I'm not big on sentiment, and I pay sympathy in person. If I can't find one that has words that suit the time and person i'm buying the card for, I write one myself.
  • Unless it's specifically a humourous card, always the design because I'd rather use my own words.
  • Nothing. I'd rather make it by hand and write my own words.
  • I look at the whole thing, and it has to say what I can't......It takes me days/weeks/months to find that perfect card, and many stores, but the look on their face when they read it is priceless.
  • for me it's the words.
  • I don't really care about the picture unless it's something cheesy then I'll move one. I definitely choose my cards with time and effort - the words count!
  • Most the time being that I got a "Hallmark Card Studio Express" downloaded in this P.C....I'll just take a photo from one of my Folder's. And add it to the front of, one of the Hallmark Cards & maybe if needed. I'll just put my own words into it. When finished I'll then print it out, creating a new card to give to that special person.................M.C.S.
  • Whenever I buy a card for someone I always try to find a cute funny one
