Different people have different techniques. Personally I sit staring at the paper/computer screen for about half an hour and force myself to write, but it doesn't always work
-
You put yourself somewhere, whether a place or thought, that makes your heart open up.
-
Get plenty of exercise and eat lots of fibre and water. If that doesn't work, try Laxettes, but consult your doctor first. Sitting upon the John is one of the best places to think, it gives you time to reflect, and allows the creative (and other) juices to flow.
-
Take a shower.
-
find a spot to chill, all by yourself, for about an hour, no pressure, just you, yourself etc
-
Do something to inspire you. Go to another place, the beach, a bed and breakfast out in the country, a fun, loud, crowded restaraunt. Maybe you'll get some inspiration and start writing away! Good luck.

I don't really write but I do write music and when I have a block I find it best to just go do something else, get it out of my mind for a bit and relax, usually I come back with a fresh perspective
-
(According to my high school English teacher) it's called the Vomit Method, when you write down thoughts and crazy thoughts that you can puke out.
-
Lock yourself in a quiet room, with no distractions, and cover yourself in the topic that your writing about.
-
Stop any negative thoughts about it. In fact, stop thinking about it at all and pay attention to what else comes to your mind aside from writing. That might give you some clues for new creative material!
-
Form the habit of writing an outline in advance of actually sitting down to write. You'll never get writers block if you do this. It when the mind has no idea of where to go to next that writers block occurs.
-
This is what I do: read a book until exhausted or bored, then try to write. Ideas may come, so just write them down, even if it seems like rubbish. Edit later! If this doesn't work try reading another book then writing when exhausted or bored again. Keep doing this, alternating three reading books if necessary. Eventually block disappears and one becomes inspired - honestly.
-
since I only write Fan Fiction about wrestling, if i have writer's block i watch wrestling and that usually gets rid of it if that doesn't work usually writing music helps
-
find someone that inspires you and start to question them. write a short story and take a small break. play some inspiring video games. laugh with some good friends. go somewhere else and come back.
-
With a writer's axe! ZING!
-
Random word association or thoughtlessly watching tlelvision.
-
Forget about it. Then it will come.
-
Just dont write take a break for a while watch t.v. do something else
-
Just write. About anything. Never let the paper remain blank (or the screen). One thing that keeps you writing is journaling. I used to get up at 5 AM and journal. I would carve out 45 minutes every morning before anyone got up. Later, when it was time to work, I would go back to the journal to see what 'flowed' out in the fresh morning words. It is the same with painters, or artists block. Take that blank sheet and just throw color at it randomly. Sooner or later, something takes shape and grows from your doodlings. good luck!
