Why do car's sound different going backward the going forward?

Reverse gear is very low, so the engine is revving faster.

Actually, reverse is usually geared somewhere between first and second, the reason for the sound is that cars dont spend alot of time in reverse so the manufacturer uses square cut gears to cut costs. Those gears produce the whine you hear in reverse.
